HALWA (RAVA SHEERA)

Halwa or Rava Sheera is an easy Pakistani / Indian dessert that can be whipped up in no time. Only requires a few pantry ingredients.

It can be served as a simple dessert or as part of halwa poori for a full breakfast.

Add water and sugar in a pot, and bring to a boil. As soon as the water comes to a boil and the sugar has dissolved, remove from the heat and set aside.

In a separate pot, add the ghee or butter, and cook until melted.

Add the green cardamoms and cook for a 30 seconds or so, until fragrant.

Now add the sooji (semolina), and cook on medium heat until it becomes golden brown.
