In a medium sized bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, white granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt.

For the Cake:

Whisk lightly until combined. Then add the wet ingredients: milk, butter and vanilla extract.

Mix until combined and fairly smooth without too many lumps. Batter will be thick.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.

Combine the dry ingredients: granulated sugar, brown sugar and cocoa powder in a bowl.

For the Chocolate Sauce:

Sprinkle this mix evenly onto the surface of the cake batter. Do not mix.
