1cupgranulated sugarif you want the lemonade to be less sweet, you can reduce this to 3/4 cup
1cuplemon juiceabout 5 to 6 large lemons
2 to 3cupscold waterto dilute
1-2drops of pink gel food coloryou can adjust the amount of food color to reach your desired shade of pink
In a small saucepan, place the granulated sugar and and 1 cup of water. Bring to a low simmer on medium heat, until the sugar is completely dissolved. The simple syrup is ready, remove from heat and set aside.
Juice the lemons.
In a serving jug or pitcher, add the simple syrup, the lemon juice and cold water.
